Healthy eating made simple, realistic, and sustainable
Changing your eating habits can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I provide friendly, ongoing support to help you build sustainable habits, stay motivated, and navigate challenges as they arise. Together, we’ll create a lifestyle that feels achievable and enjoyable.
About Me, My Personal Journey
My love for food began when I was just four years old, standing on a stool in my nanny’s kitchen, baking with her and discovering the joy that comes from creating something with your hands. As I grew, so did my passion. By sixteen, I was already pursuing my first professional qualification, and two and a half years later, I proudly held my NVQ Level 1 and 2 in Professional Cookery.
That was the start of my culinary career, from children’s play centres to pubs, hotels, and everything in between. I worked hard, learned fast, and built a life around food. But in my early twenties, everything changed.
What I didn’t know then was that I was at the beginning of a long journey with chronic health conditions. IBS and acid reflux were my first diagnoses, and as the years went on, more followed. With two young children and a busy life, healthy eating wasn’t my priority, survival was. But the pain grew worse, the medications weren’t helping, and I found myself curled up on my kitchen floor, trying to hide my tears from my children.
That moment changed everything.
I realised something had to shift. I turned to my GP, to research, and eventually to myself. It was the moment my mindset moved from “chef” to “food as fuel.” I began to understand that what I ate had a direct impact on how I felt, and that I had been using food the wrong way for most of my life.
My healthy eating journey started slowly, squeezed between raising three children and managing symptoms, but once I felt the difference, there was no going back. The improvement in my health was like night and day. I never wanted to return to that kitchen floor again. My motivation became simple: to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my children and for me.
As my passion for nutrition and interest in gut health grew, I found myself wanting to share what I’d learned. I began teaching children’s cookery classes, helping them build confidence and life skills in the kitchen. I also taught adults, blending my culinary experience with my growing understanding of nutrition and the importance of a healthy relationship with food.
But two years ago, with eighteen long‑term health conditions and a physically demanding career, my body began to struggle. Years of lifting, standing, bending, and pushing through pain had taken their toll. I knew I couldn’t continue in the same way forever, but I also knew I wasn’t done helping people.
So I made a decision: to take everything I’d learned, professionally, personally, emotionally, and pursue a qualification in nutrition and coaching. I wanted to support people through the same transition I had once faced: feeling lost, overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and desperate for change.
And that’s how Nourish & Thrive Coaching was born.
Like naming a new-born, it took time to find the right name
one that truly reflected my mission. But when it came, it felt perfect. Nourish & Thrive represents everything I believe in: nourishing your body with food that supports you, and thriving in your everyday life because of it.
Today, I’m at a point in my training where I feel confident, capable, and ready to support my first clients. My approach is warm, realistic, and grounded in lived experience. I understand the challenges, the setbacks, the confusion, and the emotional side of changing your lifestyle, because I’ve lived it.
I’m genuinely excited to help you build healthier habits, enjoy food again, and create a lifestyle that supports your wellbeing long‑term.
This isn’t just coaching for me, it’s a passion shaped by decades of cooking, years of personal health challenges, and a deep desire to help others feel better in their own bodies.
